Understanding Prospect Quote Engine (PQE)¶
In nGenue, the prospect journey begins when a new or existing customer initiates an inquiry to explore natural gas pricing options. A core element of this workflow is the Local Distribution Company (LDC) pricing product, which defines the rate structure, fees, and tariff components configured by the LDC for customer billing. When a prospect record is created or imported into nGenue, the system references the LDC pricing product configuration to retrieve and display applicable rates, fees, and tariff schedules. The LDC pricing product screen provides transparency by exposing all LDC defined cost components, ensuring the user or prospect can review detailed pricing breakdowns prior to quote acceptance.
Upon quote acceptance in the Prospect Quote Engine (PQE), nGenue performs the following automated actions:
- Status update: Converts the prospect to an active end user or renews an existing customer agreement.
- Price agreement generation: Creates a formal price agreement using Weighted Average Cost of Gas (WACOG) calculations.
- Rate and term application: Applies the configured LDC pricing product rates, terms, and tariff details to the new or renewed contract.
- Facility linking: Associates all relevant customer facilities to enable seamless service delivery, billing, tracking, and enrollment operations.
The pricing product in nGenue acts as a standardized calculation framework for determining natural gas costs. It ensures consistent rate application across customers and contracts, alignment with LDC tariff compliance requirements, transparent and auditable pricing structures.
