Transfer end user to new rate class¶
In gas utility operations, an end user’s rate class is not always static. Changes such as customer type transitions (residential to commercial), load growth, regulatory reclassification, tariff updates, or billing corrections often require an end user to be moved to a different rate class. If these changes are not applied correctly and at the right time, they can result in incorrect pricing, misapplied riders, billing errors, and downstream reconciliation issues.
The Transfer End User to New Rate Class screen allows users to switch an end user from one rate class or rider to another while preserving historical accuracy and ensuring that only the intended billing periods are affected. By enforcing effective dates and clear rate selection, this feature ensures consistency across usage calculation, billing, and settlement workflows.
